Yume (2013)
With this project, my goal was to pass along a message through the design of the mechanics of the game. The underlying narrative of the experience is the journey towards one's dreams. This idea is reinforced by features in the game such as the inability to lose, short of giving up, and the discovery that, through aiding other characters, they will help you in achieving your goals.
Although simplistic, most of the development time was spent on visual and audio. In an attempt to invoke a feel-good tone for the experience, a lot of careful crafting was put into the crafting of each power-up and the placement of every shine. I was very satisfied with the final result given the small scope of the game and I'm eager to know what you think.
